Washington (AP) September 2010

Two tribal colleges in Nebraska were among 22 nationwide that were awarded a combined $4.1 million in funding through a USDA program.

A release from the U.S. Department of Agriculture says Nebraska Indian Community College in Macy and Little Priest Tribal College in Winnebago each got about $196,000 from the Tribal College Initiative Grant program.

The release says Nebraska Indian Community will use the money for campus paving, while Little Priest will expand classrooms and add a new lecture hall.
