OREGON, Pendleton – Dressing, Rosary and Wa’ashat services for KATHLEEN DELORES WILSON GORDON, 73, were held August 21, 2009. Mass of Christian burial was held August 22, 2009, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Mission Oregon. Interment followed at the St. Andrews Cemetery. “Katty” was born June 9, 1936 at her grandmother’s home at the foothills of the Blue Mountains on the Umatilla Reservation. She passed away August 20, 2009, at the St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington.

In the 1970s, she began her lifelong career working for the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Reservation. Her employment included the Bureau of Indian Affairs; the Umatilla Board of Trustees; the Umatilla Nationa JTPA Program; Yellowhawk; and the Umatilla Language Program. She continued to work with Tamastlikt and the CTUIR Language Program until her passing. (Yakama Nation Review, August 27, 2009)
