Morrow, Sarah “Cookie”

Sarah “Cookie” Morrow, age 82 of LCO, passed on March 23, 2009 at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.

Sarah “Cookie” was born July 20, 1926 in Reserve, the daughter of Frank & Anna (Baker) Cloud. She grew up and attended The Indian School in Hayward. Cookie was united in marriage to George Michael Morrow Sr. on April 15, 1944 in Hayward. She worked numerous seasonal jobs but the most enjoyable was working with the foster grandparents program at LCO School and Baby Bear Daycare. Cookie was a life long resident of LCO.

She is survived by her son George (Ramona) Morrow Jr.; daughters Luann (Dean) Gokey, Carole Morrow all of LCO; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many loving nephews & nieces.

Cookie was preceded in death by her parents; husband George Sr.  in 1970; daughter Darlene; brothers Raymond, Bud, Alex, Kenny & Howard; sisters Josephine, Helma, Marie, Susan, Emerald & infant sister Doris; granddaughter Binesiikwe.

Tribal Funeral Rites were held. on March 26 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Lee Staples officiated. Burial was in Historyland Cemetery.

Honorary casket bearers were George Belille, Darryle Cooper, Marvin Corbine, Alex LaSieur, Larry LaSieur, Pierre LaSieur, Jim Miller, Steve Morrow, Arnie Rice & Howard Sharlow.

Casket bearers were Roger Baker, Stewart Belille, Duane Isham, Bobby Sharlow, Mitch Sharlow & Steve Thayer.
