George J. Wade, age 49 of Hayward, passed away March 13, 2009, at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital

George Joseph was born October 3, 1959 in Chicago, IL, the son of Paul “Biddie” and Joyce (Ninham) Wade. He worked with Ventures Unlimited for several years and also with the Training Station. George was an artist and loved to paint.  He spent much of his time in the outdoors, working outside, planting flowers, walking trails, boating and swimming.  He loved to travel, going to church and singing.  George was an avid Packers fan, and also enjoyed traveling to different casinos in Wisconsin and Minnesota.  He loved family gatherings where he could eat and visit and watch movies with family and friends.

He is survived by his mother Joyce; brothers Paul “Obbie” Wade, Geronimo Wade, Frank “Cricket” Wade, Wayne “Doogie” Wade; sisters Eunice Quagon, Gayle Corbine, Linda Wade, B.J. Moore; foster mother Susan Benson and family Kelsi Petersen, Kelly McAllester, Tim Howells & Billy Trepanier; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and his social worker Patricia Langham.

George was preceded in death by his father; sister Ardis May Wade, Cindy Cornelius; brother Stewart James Wade, Joseph “Smiley” Wade; grandparents George & Sarah Wade and their daughter Rachel Lawe, and Benjamin & Amy Ninham; uncle John Wade; nephew Cody B. Wade; and niece Brandi Corbine.

The Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. March 18 at St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission in Reserve.  Fr. Gregory Hopfl was the Celebrant, with music provided by Sister Felissa Zander.  Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery.

Honoray casket bearers were Charlie Baker, Terry DeSmith, Floyd Fleming, Tim Howells, Dave Kretschmer, Luke Kupsch, Kelly McAllester, Billy Trepanier and Christopher Voigt.

Casket bearers were Aaron Brabbs, Jonathon Gouge, Jeffrey Pagel, Matthew Quaderer, Edward Quagon and Michael Williams.
