Davis, Donna: Ogabaygeezhigooway “Standing Day Woman”

Donna J. Davis, age 65 of LCO, passed away June 20, 2008, at her home.

Donna Jean was born May 4, 1943, in Hayward, WI, the daughter of Clifford & Marie (White) Miller. She attended Kinnamon School and Hayward High School. Donna worked in housekeeping at Ross’ Teal Lake Lodge, Best Western Northern Pine and most recently as a hostess at the LCO Casino.

She is survived by her sons Richard (Rose Wilson) O’Shogay, Michael O’Shogay, James O’Shogay; daughter Vicki O’Shogay all of Hayward; three grandchildren; five great–grandchildren; brothers Tom (Jill) Miller, Jim (Kathy) Miller, Rick (Marilyn) Miller; sisters Lorraine Ledbeter, Dorothy Miller, Elaine Miller, Bobbie (Frank) Lopez of Chicago, Cindy (Mike Flechsig) Miller; many nephews, nieces & cousins.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, sisters Sally McClurg, Janet Miller, Kathy Miller, Marilyn Miller, nephews Richard Miller Jr. & Bryon Ledbeter.

Tribal Funeral Rites were held June 23, 2008, at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Lee Staples officated. Burial was in Historyland Cemetery in Hayward.

Honorary casket bearers were Eric Fout, Frank “Teats” Lopez, Wilbur Miller, Jack Skye, Roy Skye, Bob White, Lewis White & Melvin White.

Casket Bearers were Michael Belille, A.J. Chino Jr., Michael Flechsig, Dean Johnson, Bruce Nebel & Josh Talamantes.
