Strothmann, Mildren: of LCO and Gordon

Mildred E. Strothmann, age 97 of LCO, passed away June 6, 2008, at Golden Living/Valley of Hayward.

Mildred Evelyn was born August 31, 1910, in Gresham, WI, the daughter of Jay & Lucy (Wilber) Howe. As a young girl her family moved to South Dakota where she attended a boarding school, they then moved to Milwaukee where she graduated high school. She lived in Signor for 27 years with her first husband Frank White, where she worked as a librarian. Mildred moved back to Milwaukee and married Harold Strothmann in 1973; he also preceded her in death. She returned back to LCO in 2000. Mildred was very talented at making traditional arts and crafts.

She is survived by her daughter Fayann White of LCO; grandsons Roy (Eva) Quagon of LCO, Vernon Bruce Quagon Jr. of Duluth, MN; seven great- grandchildren; many nephews and nieces.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Frank, second husband Harold, grandchildren Steve Allen Quagon, Brenda Lee Quagon and nine brothers and sisters.

Tribal Funeral Rites were held with a feast on June 10, 2008, at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Lee Staples officiated. Burial was in Signor Cemetery in Couderay.

Honorary casket bearers were Ray Hart, Frank Lynk, Vernon Quagon, Roger Schmock, Richard Smith and Dennis White.

Casket Bearers were Carmen Butler, Richie Hollen, Tom Lacapa, Gary Quaderer, John Quagon and Tom Quagon.

Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward assisted the family with arrangements.
