Gerald “Jerry” A. Gouge’, age 85 of Hayward, passed away March 19, 2008, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.

Jerry Albert was born February 26, 1923, in Reserve, WI, the son of George & Harriet (Isham) Gouge’. He attended Hayward, Odanah and Pipestone schools. Jerry is a World War II veteran serving from 1942–1945. He served in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe under the command of General Patton’s 3rd Army. Jerry earned a Theater Ribbon, one Silver Battle Star, Good Conduct Medal, four overseas Service Bars, European-African and Middle Eastern Medal. He was united in marriage to Eunice Case on October 14, 1949, in Carlton, MN. Jerry was a plumber for 40 years before retiring 20 years ago.

He is survived by his wife Eunice; daughter Carol (Eugene) Pisca; their sons Dustin (Maria) Pisca & Shane (Betheny) Pisca; son Gerald Gouge’ of Hayward, his son Paul Gouge’; brothers Richard (Kay), Louie, Bill (Geraldine); sisters Hazel (Zene) Anderson, Delores Gouge’; several nephews and nieces.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Heloise Scharp & Elizabeth Schmock, brothers Art Butler, Allen Roy Gouge’, Elmer Gouge’ and Joe Gouge’.

Funeral Service was held March 25 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Father Gregory Hopefl officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward with military honors provided by LCO AMVETS Post #1998.

Casket bearers were Dean Gokey, Bill Gouge’ Jr., Gary Gouge’, Tiger Gouge’, Bernard Scharp Jr. and Richy Scharp.

Pineview Funeral Service assisted Jerry’s family with the arrangements.
