Stopp, Bill J. (Cherokee Nation)

Bill J. Stopp, 55, Belton, Mo., passed away September 10, 2007, at the St. Joseph Medical Center. Memorial Services were held on September 14, 2007, at the Ceremonial Campus on the Indian Ministry campus, 33301 E. AA Hwy (old hwy 10), Grain Valley, Mo.

Bill was born on July 7, 1952, in Tahlequah, Okla., the son of Sunday and Pauline (Treasure) Stopp. He was married to Shannon Stark on April 5, 2002 . He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.

He had worked for the Veterans Administration as an administrator for 30 years before his retirement then he worked for Wal-Mart for 7 years as a support manager. He was a Staff Carrier of the Eagle Talon brotherhood where he was the keeper of their staff.

He was a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.

Survivors include is wife Shannon Stopp of the home, six children and their spouses, Scott Price and his wife Kristen, Brandi Davis and her husband Chris, and Tiffany Stopp and Joe all of Muskogee, Okla, Michael Stark, Arianna Stark and Hunter all of the home in Belton, Mo. Six grandchildren, a brother Harold Stopp of Wichita, Kan., a sister Cheryl Clark, a brother Kenneth Stopp, a sister Karen Casteel, a brother Aaron Stopp all of Oklahoma and a brother Preston Tone-pah-hote of Orrick, Mo.
