‘Imprint’ gets DVD distribution deals

Rapid City, South Dakota (AP) 4-08

Linn Productions of Rapid City has signed deals for all international rights and domestic DVD distribution for “Imprint,” a movie filmed in western South Dakota.

The DVDs should be available by mid-summer, said Carolyn Linn, executive producer. “I know people around here have been wanting to buy it.”

Small independent companies have a tough time getting distribution of any kind, Linn said. The deals will ensure that “Imprint” is actively sold overseas, she said, adding that international sales could start soon at markets in Cannes, France.

“We expect it to do well over there. It’s good to have somebody we trust representing us,” Linn said.

Ostrow and Co. of Los Angeles negotiated the distribution on behalf of Linn Productions. Domestic DVD distribution is being handled by MTI Home Video of Miami. Koan Inc. of Park City, Utah, will distribute “Imprint” internationally.

“Imprint” depicts an American Indian lawyer who has strange visions and hears ghostly voices while prosecuting a teenager for murder. It was filmed at a ranch south of Rapid City and on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
